Twas the night before Disney

So the Westerns are heading to Disney again.  This time we will be traveling with the Rickards.  I must say, I am more nervous and frustrated with planning then any other trip we have taken.  All MouseGuideToWalt already know that I am a super planner and have tons of great experience and advice, so what is the problem?image

Two of my biggest tips are #1 – Make sure you are at the park before opening and in the park as close to being the first family as possible. #2 – Do not go to park with morning magic hours, unless you are going to attend the magic hours.

So what does our trip look like:

  • Sat – Magic Kingdom         7:45-9:00 Early Morning Magic
  • Sun – Magic Kingdom
  • Mon – Animal Kingdom    8:00-9:00 Magic Hours
  • Tues – Magic Kingdom     7:45-9:00 Early Morning Magic
  • Wed- Epcot
  • Thurs – Hollywood Studios     8:00-9:00 Magic Hours
  • Fri – Magic Kingdom        8:00-9:00 Magic Hours

What the?  How did this happen??

Well, in order to successfully plan for a Disney trip, character breakfast must be booked 180 days out to secure a reservation.  Even at 180 days out, we were only able to reserve 3 breakfasts.  One was at a park that we have since changed our plans.  So now down to two.  Now we found out that there are magic hours at Hollywood Studios during our breakfast.  So now we are down to one breakfast, oh well.

So what are we to do about the mornings, 5 of 7 have conflicts?  My research has shown that the new Early Morning Magic has little impact on the crowds.  Visitors at this event tend to ride the popular rides 3 or 4 times, therefore they move on to less popular rides when the park opens.  So now we are down to 3 of 7 mornings with problems. We do have a small secret (SHHHH)  that we have successfully been able to get in to Magic Kingdom magic hours with 100% success rate.  So now, what do we do for Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios?  The Westerns will test their magic and see what we can go to get into the Magic Hours.  Wish us luck.image

We would love to change parks and remake our entire schedule, but now with Fastpass+ being booked 60 days in advance, changing parks means taking a risk of losing all the Fastpass+ for the A list rides.

Well… They always say a bad day fishing is better than a good day in the office right?   I am sure a bad day at Disney will always beat a good day in the office.  Actually a bad day in Florida, in the middle of a hurricane, stuck in a hotel room would still be better than a good day in the office.  And that is really good news, because there is a chance of a tropical storm in Florida on Tuesday. 🙂

One thing is for sure, no matter how the trip goes, we will definitively have the best t-shirt in Disney World.  Take a look here.
